African Space Policy and Strategy
This course is a thorough examination of the African continental space policy, strategy and programme, within the context of the present and emerging international space governance system.
Effective Leadership of Space Institutions
This is a special leadership retreat designed for management cadre, board members and team leads of space institutions. The programme includes inspiring talks on leadership, lectures, simulations, networking and tours. Lectures focus on structuring a space organisation based on the national space policy/strategy, how an organisation pursues its mandates and national goals while keeping to its international obligations, role of boards, governance and oversight functions.
The U.S. Space Ecosystem
The U.S. is one of the leading countries in space investment, infrastructure and capability. This course provides participants with knowledge about the what, who and how, of the U.S. space ecosystem. Participants will learn the interests, policies, regulations and processes, regarding space activities in/with the U.S.
Maximising International Space Cooperation
Learn the principles, tools, means and ways of space cooperation and diplomacy, to advance organisational, national and global goals and interests.
McGill-ASLI Course on International Space Law and Governance
This course is jointly organised by ASLI and the McGill Institute of Air and Space Law, McGill University, Canada. The course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the legal frameworks and governance structures governing global space activities. The course explores the intersection of international space law, national legislation and space cooperation.

World Space Week (WSW) 2024: High-Level Panel on Space and Climate Change
ASLI in collaboration with the Nigerian Embassy in Addis Ababa, and the Ethiopian Space Science and Technology Institute (SSGI) organised a high-level panel discussion to commemorate the designated World Space Week (WSW) 2024. The theme of the event was “Space and Climate Change.”
Briefing of the Diplomatic and Scientific Communities in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
ASLI in collaboration with the Nigerian Embassy in Addis Ababa, and the Ethiopian Space Science and Technology Institute (SSGI) organised a Space Briefing, with a focus on the four thematic priority areas of the African Outer Space Programme (Earth Observation, Satellite Communication, Navigation & Positioning, and Astronomy) as well as two cross-cutting areas (Education & Capacity Development, and African Space Economy).
Briefing of U.S. Space Delegation
ASLI had an interactive discussion with a U.S. delegation consisting of representatives from NASA and U.S. Departments of State, Commerce and Defence. The discussion focused on civil and commercial space cooperation between Africa and the U.S.
