Tsion Bonger (Ethiopia)

Tsion Bonger, Ethiopian is an Assistant Researcher at the Ethiopian Space Science and Geospatial Institute. She holds a Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering. She serves as the Project and Student Coordinator at ACHIEVED Academy under Education and Professional Development pillar of Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC). She is passionate about advancing space science through research, education, and community engagement.


 

Jennifer Darko (Ghana)

Jennifer Darko is a Ghanaian-British aeronautical engineering graduate, nearing the end of her master’s degree in Space Science and Engineering at University College London. After discovering a keen interest in thermodynamic design for aerospace applications, she is pursuing a career in the space industry as a spacecraft engineer and researcher. Through sustainable and proactive engineering practice, she hopes to make a meaningful contribution to the African space industry in the near future. Alongside her studies, she enjoys model rocketry, academic writing, photography and playing rugby with her local team.


 

Chisom Catherine Emeachi, (Nigeria)

Chisom Catherine Emeachi is a lawyer with a keen interest in advancing education across Africa. Driven by a passion for youth development, she recently organized an inter-school competition in Bayelsa State, Nigeria, engaging elementary, middle, and high school students in essay writing and quiz contests designed to enhance learning, teamwork, competitiveness, and self-confidence. She is particularly committed to helping young people discover and harness their potential through sports, cognitive competitions, and other developmental platforms. Chisom is the co-founder of Every Child is Special Organisation Nigeria, a not-for-profit dedicated to improving educational outcomes through innovative, competition-based initiatives.


 

Izebe Evbogame (Nigeria)

He is a dentist, multi-award-winning writer, and former President of the Nigerian Association of Dental Students. A graduate of the University of Benin, Nigeria, he is passionate about leveraging science and innovation to solve real-world problems. Izebe believes in the transformative power of space technology to accelerate development across African nations. He is committed to bridging the gap between space science and grassroots impact, especially in healthcare, education, and sustainability.

 

Daisy Jelagat (Kenya),

Daisy Jelagat is a Geospatial Engineer in training who champions the power of open-source data. Based in Kenya, she possesses a keen interest in the rapidly evolving fields of Space and GeoAI, constantly exploring how these advanced technologies can be harnessed to drive impactful climate action initiatives. In addition to her technical acumen, Daisy is an enthusiastic technical writer, committed to demystifying complex concepts and sharing valuable content through her articles.


 

Ashly Kahari (Zimbabwe)

Ashly Kahari is an emerging geospatial enthusiast with a growing passion for advancing Africa’s presence in the global space arena. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Zimbabwe, where she combines academic curiosity with hands-on research and fieldwork. Ashly’s work explores the transformative power of satellite technology and geospatial data in tackling real-world challenges, from improving agricultural productivity and monitoring crop health to mapping land degradation caused by mining. Her recent research has focused on using remote sensing and spatial analysis to inform sustainable land use and restoration strategies. Ashly is particularly interested in the role of African space policy in promoting environmental stewardship, food security, and inclusive development. Driven by a vision of African-led innovation, she hopes to contribute meaningfully to shaping space policy and research that reflect the continent’s unique needs and aspirations


 

Viola Kibet (Kenya)

She is a young and enthusiastic scientist, who is passionate about using space science and technology to drive sustainable development across Africa and all over the world. With a strong background in electrical and telecommunications engineering, she is part of a new generation of African space leaders committed to making space accessible and impactful for communities across the globe.


 

Emmanuel Githinji Kiundu (Kenya)

Emmanuel is a final-year Aeronautical Engineering student at the Technical University of Kenya. He currently serves as the National Campus Lead for the Young Aviators Club of Africa (YACAfrica), an organization focused on building human capacity in aviation and aerospace. He is also the Chief Operations Officer at CubeKraft, an organization dedicated to advancing space education and innovation. Emmanuel is a certified Space Professional by the Teaching Science and Technology Institute (TSTI) and a passionate advocate for space exploration, policy, and sustainable development in Africa. Emmanuel is many things, but at his core, he is a changemaker who believes in equal opportunities for all and in building systems that empower Africa to fulfill her true potential.


 

Rowyn Naidoo (South Africa)

Rowyn Naidoo is a strategy consultant and researcher passionate about sustainable development, energy transition, and space technologies across emerging and developing markets. With a background in electrical engineering and astronomy, and professional experience at PwC Strategy&, he has led flagship publications, coordinating cross-regional teams and translating complex data into actionable insights for governments, utilities, and development partners. His work blends strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and research to inform just, data-driven transitions. Rowyn is committed to advancing equitable, locally informed solutions at the intersection of climate, energy, and space.


 

Patience Mwaka Namfukwe (Zambia)

This prolific Zambian is a dedicated and compassionate individual, who is driven by a passion to create positive change in her community. With a strong commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable populations, Patience works tirelessly to address the social and economic challenges faced by marginalized groups. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies with Sociology from the University of Zambia, she further pursued her expertise with a Master’s degree from the Pan African University – Institute of Governance, Humanities, and Social Sciences. With a particular passion for public policy-making strategies, Patience seeks to influence and shape policies that promote social justice and equality. Her selfless dedication and unwavering determination inspire others to join her in the pursuit of a more equitable and just society.


 

Kelvin Ngeno (Kenya)

He is a recent Civil Engineering graduate from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology and has a background in teaching and community work. He is passionate about empowering young people, space, technology, and supporting environmental causes. He enjoys volunteering with organizations like the Kenya Red Cross and UN Volunteers. In his free time, he loves cycling, writing, hiking, and exploring the beautiful landscapes of Kenya.


 

Odoziaku Stephen Obaro (Nigeria)

Stephen is a final-year Chemical Engineering student at Lagos State University (LASU), Nigeria. With skills in writing and problem-solving, he has passion for space and space related projects, alongside interests in energy transformation, and innovation.

 

Sunday Odu (Nigeria)

He is a STEM educator, writer, and youth development expert with a strong focus on sustainable development. He is the founder of the Undergraduate Essayists Group (UEG), a youth-led initiative that equips undergraduates across African tertiary institutions with advanced research and academic writing skills. Since its inception, UEG has supported over 2,000 students across 15 tertiary institutions in Nigeria, enabling them to produce high-quality academic theses before graduation. Sunday’s work lies at the intersection of education, innovation, and development. He advocates for writing as a transformative tool for achieving the Africa’s Agenda 2063 and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). His thought leadership emphasises how knowledge creation and dissemination can drive policy, innovation, and systemic change across the continent.

 

Olumide S. Ogungbemi (Nigeria)

Olumide S. Ogungbemi is a Geospatial Intelligence Analyst, Humanitarian Data Scientist, and Global Health Specialist with experience in geospatial analysis, humanitarian data visualisation, field research and reporting. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography from the University of Lagos, Nigeria and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Geography and Geospatial Science at Oregon State University, USA. Olumide is actively engaged in the space and geospatial community through his involvement with the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC). He has contributed significantly to local organising efforts for key African space events, including the Africa Space Generation Workshop (AF-SGW) 2024, where he supported stakeholder engagement by submitting partnership proposals to UN agencies, the ECOWAS Commission, and USAID. In 2023, Olumide served on the Local Organising Committee for SG[Nigeria], participating in two project groups focused on leveraging space technologies for public security and utilizing satellite imagery and remote sensing for flood mapping and control in Nigeria. As a speaker at the SGAC 2022 webinar, Olumide presented on the “Impact of Satellite Imagery on Medical Practice,” highlighting the application of geospatial solutions in healthcare. He is the Co-founder of AGAPE Global Health and Education (AGHE), a non-profit organisation dedicated to addressing child community issues through programmes and research that improve access to healthcare and education


 

Mary Okoth (Kenya)

She is a GIS Specialist, Climate Activist and Environmental Policy Analyst. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Community Development from Kenyatta University, Kenya, and has undertaken advanced training in GIS, Remote Sensing and spatial data analysis. Mary’s work bridges the gap between science and policy, with a focus on climate resilience, sustainable land management and ecosystem conservation. As a youth climate advocate and emerging voice in global environmental diplomacy, she is actively involved in climate negotiations, policy development and community-centred solutions for adaptation and mitigation. Passionate about leveraging space-based technologies and Earth observation for decision-making, Mary aims to support Africa’s leadership in space science and its integration into sustainable development strategies. Her academic and professional journey reflects a deep commitment to environmental justice, spatial equity and transformative climate action.


 

Bessong-Takang Ma-Ndok (Cameroon)

Bessong-Takang is a core network engineer, community builder, and emerging space enthusiast. With professional experience in mobile network operations, network automation, and cybersecurity, She is passionate about using technology to create opportunities for young people and also improve on her own skill. Ma-Ndok co-founded CyberCombi, a community that helps beginners explore cybersecurity more practically, and is involved as licensee/organizer in global initiatives like TEDx, creating spaces for learning, idea-sharing, and youth empowerment.

 

Aaron Sanga (Tanzania)

Aaron is a recent graduate in Industrial Engineering and Management from Mzumbe University, Tanzania. He is the 2024 winner of the prestigious Global Peter Drucker Challenge, making him the first Tanzanian to receive this global honor. Passionate about the transformative power of education, Aaron aspires to enter academia and become renowned professor of Industrial Engineering and Management with a mission to inspire future African innovators. He is currently searching for scholarship opportunities to further his studies at the graduate level. Aaron is also an avid writer with a growing portfolio of essays and articles that reflect his commitment to thought leadership. He believes that Africa’s future lies not only in developing its industries but also in reaching beyond its horizons, into space. To him, space is the new ground, a frontier where African solutions, dreams and innovations can take root and thrive.

 

Arthur Shirichena (Zimbabwe)

Arthur Shirichena is a qualified lawyer and PhD candidate in air and space law at the University of Manchester, UK. He holds an LLB & LLM from the University of Fort Hare, South Africa; LLM in EU law from University of Cologne, Germany;  and Master of Advanced International Studies from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, Austria. He is a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.


 

Vanessa Vivian Uzu-Okonta (Nigeria)

Venessa Vivian is a passionate and emerging legal professional currently serving as a Graduate Intern at Platinum and Taylor Hill LP with a strong academic background and growing practical experience in key areas of law including petroleum and energy, finance, risk management, data protection, and human rights. She holds an LL.B (Second Class Upper Division) from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria, and recently completed her vocational training at the Nigerian Law School, Bagauda campus, Kano State. Vanessa has interned with notable institutions such as the Delta State Ministry of Justice, Peter Mrakpor SAN & Partners, and Hilton Top Solicitors, where she contributed to legal research, drafting, and policy-focused engagements. Her exposure spans across legal drafting, public prosecution, legal tech, and compliance. She is also a certified trainee in cybersecurity, data protection, and data analysis. Deeply committed to continuous learning and legal innovation, Vanessa has served as Editor-in-Chief of the National ADR Society Editorial Board and contributed to research and legal outreach through her roles at Alpha Law Advisory and the Delta State Tech Hub. She is a student member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), the Energy Institute and also a member of the Space Generation Advisory Council. Vanessa’s legal curiosity, research-driven approach, and advocacy interests position her as a future thought leader in Nigeria’s legal and energy sectors.


 

Emmanuel Yakubu Ndawa (Nigeria)

Emmanuel is a 300 Level Law Student in the Department of Public Law, Faculty of Law, University of Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria. With a strong passion for international law, global affairs, and sustainable development, he has been recognized as an award winning writer in international law. He is particularly interested in space law, closely following developments in space policies, exploration, and operations. He is an advocate for Africa’s growth and development. He is also dedicated to exploring the intersection of law, technology, and international relationship.
