As the 1st ASLI Colloquium on the African Outer Space Programme draws near, we are happy to announce that Prof. Jean Koulidiati (Rector, Pan-African University) will be delivering a keynote address.
The Pan African University (PAU) has five thematic institutes, hosted in existing universities and located in the five geographical regions of the African Union. The Institute for Water and Energy (including Climate Change) hosted by the Tlemcen University, Algeria. The Institute for Basic Sciences, technology and Innovation, hosted by the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and technology, Kenya. The Institute for Life and Earth Sciences (including health and agriculture), hosted by the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. The Institute for Governance, Humanities and Social Sciences, hosted by the University of Yaounde II, Cameroon. The Institute for Space Science will be hosted in South Africa, when it commences operation. Each Institute will have 10 satellite centres across the continent.
Prof. Koulidiati leads and coordinates the 5 institutes, virtual and e-University, entrepreneurship hub as well as the PAU rectorate.
Prior to his appointment, Prof Koulidiati was the President of the University of Ouagadougou (now called Ki-Zerbo University), Burkina Faso.
He has also previously held senior positions in government in his home country, Burkina Faso, including Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development as well as Minister of Digital Economy Development and Poster Services.
